Replicating the Bridge City joint maker has been on my 'todo' list for years now - this is a really impressive solution. Can't wait to see the sliding table build

Bridge City Tools JMPv2 Jointmaker Pro v2 anyone? This level of engineering is amazing. Absolutely incredible that you were able to reproduce that machine's capability to any degree.
Yep! I got to see a live demo of that rig (probably the v1 back then) when I was in high school, and as soon as JSK brought out that razor saw, the memory came flooding back. I was in a short-lived internship at the Northwest Woodworking Studio in Portland, OR at the time, and they had a tool show with reps from around the country, including Bridge City Tools. It seems like "why would you want a manual tool like this when you've got a real table saw?" but there's really not much else on the market that gives you equal or better precision than a table saw with a fraction of the kerf. It will be interesting to see how he builds the rest of it, particularly the mechanism for adjusting the tilt of the blade, if that's a feature he wants to include. You could make some beautiful dovetails with something like that.
@@jiijijjijiijiij Still, BCT has their stuff precision machined. If JSK can achieve the necessary precision with just a ruler, a pencil, and a homemade drill press, that will be no small feat.
@@jiijijjijiijiij OMG, Lego?? Haha, that's awesome! I wanna see the RUclips video of *that* build! I'd try to make one myself, but I've got way too many projects up in the air already. My most involved project at the moment is making a miniature hobby lathe out of my corded drill. I already managed to make a custom M12-1.0 to 3/8"-24 thread reducer so that I could replace the standard keyless chuck with a mini 3-jaw chuck, but I've still got a long way to go on making a tailstock and an adjustable tool rest.
Oh man I've always wanted to try and DIY one of these as well! I made a whole sketchup model trying to piece together one with "off the shelf" stuff. Still would love to do it, its such a cool design. Thanks for sharing, this is so cool!

Very high quality work. Much detail and precise craftsmanship. WHAT IS IT? A little more information about what you are making would add a lot to the viewer experience. Thanks!
It’s his version of the bridge city joint maker. For fine intricate joinery cuts, a sliding table lets you move the work piece back n forth over the blade I think it’s around $900 but I might be wrong
I realize this particular project is replicating, but as far as the other projects, do you think them up or refer off of others? No matter, your projects are fantastic.
Brillant craftsmanship, as always. One thing though, making a video with 1,2 million subs may count as commercial use of this idea, which is patented by bridge city tools. And YT is based in the US…
@@spycedezynuk The problem may be, that the patent excludes others from more than just making physical copies. Imagine, you would be granted a patent for a brilliant idea and sbd else would use your idea in a non educational, non scientific, but commercial video, which (the video) he is selling for money, how would you feel about it? Is the patent excluding the video creater from making this kind of commercial '"use" of the protected idea? On the other hand, tons of videos on YT could interfere with patents, even some of my videos. I would be glad, if sbd familiar with patents could give some advice.
I think it will be the type of saw where you slide the workpiece over the static saw, rather than the usual way of sawing which is to hold the workpiece static and move the saw back and forth with your arm. It's a very nice machine which allows very fast, smooth, accurate and repeatable cuts. Imagine the way a table saw is used as a rough idea of how it is operated.

I I have a JMPv2, and this one might be superior to it in the end.
AWESOME. Excellent design and fabrication. Any chance of being able to purchase a set of instructions (with dimensions and supply sources)?
Imagine this guy building a DIY CNC.
Would be epic! 😎😁
I hope you will share my videos with your friends!
I had never seen an optical center punch before. I must own one.
